Kelee Ringo 2023 NFL Draft Profile

Kelee Ringo is easily the biggest wildcard of the cornerback class heading into the 2023 NFL Draft. The talent is evident but he hasn’t quite hit his ceiling yet either. So this one will take a bit of projection but I promise as we walk through this together you will start to buy in as I already have. Let’s get right to it. Here is your Kelee Ringo 2023 NFL Draft Profile!

For starters, I don’t know what more I have to say other than what I continue to try to tell you over and over again. Georgia just has better players than everyone else. You can believe it or not believe it. Just know the caliber of athlete that attends their school is better than everyone else right now. Ringo is no different. We also have a track record on corners specifically like Eric Stokes who have become hits (you’re welcome).

Ringo was a monster recruit during the 2020 cycle. Ringo was the 4th best recruit and number one cornerback in the country out of the state of Arizona. Ringo also comes with great size and speed for the position. He’s been Georgia’s number one since redshirting as a freshman. Ringo comes with track speed (4.36) and great length (6-foot-2).

Ringo isn’t a finished product but the production is all there. The Dawgs corner earned second team All-SEC honors in 2022 notching seven pass deflections and two interceptions. Ringo’s best moment with Georgia is probably his pick six against Alabama in the title game the year before. He’s been a huge part of team that just won back-to-back titles.

That isn’t to say that Ringo is perfect. His short area quickness doesn’t match the pure speed. I thought Ringo was solid at the combine but he didn’t ace every drill. There are still some spazz moments where he finds himself out of position. Ringo was called for nine penalties in 2022 which sort of explains some of that. With Ringo, it’s about believing in the talent and knowing when the lightbulb truly clicks, the minor stuff holding him back will vanish.

What should matter is the fact that Marvin Harrison didn’t kill him. Harrison had a great game but was limited when Ringo covered him. That right there should encourage everyone. On six targets against Ringo, Harrison had one catch for 16 yards. Albeit, that one catch was a touchdown. Still, Ringo has proven he more than holds up against elite talent. I’m not sure there is another corner in the country that could have done that.

I’m all in on Kelee Ringo and I’m not sure how you’re not. The Georgia corner has the chance to develop into one of the premier outside corners in all of football. The athletic traits are too good to pass here. Ringo isn’t a finished product but he should make any team that drafts him really happy. I have a firm first round grade on Ringo and have no issue turning the card in here and sleeping really well at night.
